If one’s film is based on serious stuff as politics, then they can be assured of the difficulties that will arise concerning it. Looks like Prakash Jha’s political saga ‘Rajneeti’ is soon going to attract problems.

The filmmaker had the first taste of it recently, when he planned to organise a press meet at Purana Qila, to promote ‘Rajneeti’ in Delhi. However, he was denied the permission owing to several reasons. But not single of them seemed to have been genuine according to Jha and feels its all because of the theme of the movie. “First we were told we needed a government department’s recommendation,” explained Jha, “Having presented that, we were told it has to be a government function.

We were finally told that due to security issues, we can’t have the conference there. Nobody says that on your face, but they might be apprehensive, this being a movie based on politics and people opposing it... .”

Hmm, some kind of politics going behind…
